Cases & Submissions
Cases are the heart of Praxicraft. Each one is a real-world data engineering challenge wrapped in a fictional business scenario. Here's how they work and how to get the most out of them. What is a case? A case gives you everything you need to solve a data problem: - A scenario brief — the fictional business context setting the scene - A task with a clear objective and expected output - Downloadable assets like CSV files and schemas - Hints you can unlock if you get stuck (heads up — each hint costs XP!) What types of cases are there? Cases are organised by track: - Python — write Python code using pandas, NumPy, and other data tools - SQL — write SQL queries evaluated against a DuckDB sandbox - Linux — complete shell-based data tasks in a sandboxed Linux environment What's the difference between Run and Submit? Great question — they're not the same thing! - Run — executes your code and shows the output, but doesn't count as a submission attempt. Perfect for testing your work before committing - Submit — your official attempt, evaluated for XP. Only hit this when you're ready! Why did my submission fail even though my output looks right? This happens more than you'd think! Common culprits: - Trailing whitespace or extra newlines in your output - Column order that differs from the expected output - Floating-point precision — make sure you're rounding to the expected number of decimal places - Encoding issues in string outputs Double-check the expected output shown on the case page and compare it line by line with yours. Can I use hints? Absolutely. Each case has hints that progressively nudge you toward the solution. Just keep in mind: - Unlocking a hint costs XP from your current balance - Use them strategically — that's your hard-earned XP you're spending! - Hints don't affect your rank or lifetime XP Can I go back to a completed case? Welcome to Praxicraft🎉 You've just joined a gamified data engineering platform where you solve real-world challenges, earn XP, and climb a 17-rank career ladder — all wrapped in the story of working at a fictional data bureau. Here's everything you need to get going. What exactly is Praxicraft? Think of it as your data engineering career, but gamified. You join a fictional company, get an employment contract, a line manager, an org chart, and even performance reviews — while actually sharpening your real data skills through challenges called cases. - Solve real-world data challenges in a safe, sandboxed environment - Earn XP and climb from Data Intern all the way to Bureau Director - Work across Python, SQL, and Linux tracks - Unlock story-driven features as you progress in rank How do I sign up? Head to the Praxicraft website and hit Get Started. You've got three ways to register: - Email and password - Sign in with Google - Sign in with GitHub After registering, check your inbox for a 6-digit verification code and enter it to activate your account. What happens after I verify my email? You'll be walked through a one-time onboarding flow — it only takes a few minutes: - Read and accept your employment contract (this one's required!) - Pick your specialisation track: Python, SQL, or Linux - Get your welcome briefing and land on your dashboard Can I skip onboarding? EnterpriseOrganisations (Enterprise)
Praxicraft's organisation feature is built for teams. If you're managing a group of engineers on the platform, here's how it all works. What is an organisation? An organisation lets enterprise users bring their whole team onto Praxicraft under one structure. - One Owner per organisation - Multiple Admins and Members can be added - Enterprise users go through the same onboarding as everyone else — no special setup required Who can see all support tickets in an organisation? Ticket visibility is role-based: - Owners and Admins can view all support tickets raised by any member of the organisation - Regular members can only see their own tickets Who can delete an organisation? Only the organisation Owner can delete it — and it's irreversible. To kick off an organisation dissolution, reach out to our support team and they'll guide you through it. Can enterprise users do everything individual users can? Yes! Enterprise users have access to everything individual users do, plus the extra organisation-level management features on top. Running into something unexpected? Most technical issues are quick to fix. Here are the most common ones and how to sort them out. The code editor isn't loading Try these steps one by one: - Hard-refresh the page — Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, or Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows - Clear your browser cache and cookies for the site - Try a different browser — Chrome or Firefox work best - Disable browser extensions that might be blocking scripts (ad blockers are a common culprit) Still not working? Raise a Bug Report ticket with your browser name, version, and a screenshot. My submission is stuck on "evaluating" and won't complete Submissions normally wrap up in seconds. If yours has been spinning for more than 2 minutes: - Refresh the page — the result might have loaded - Try submitting again - If it's still stuck, raise a Bug Report ticket with the case name and the approximate time you submitted I can't log in — my account seems locked Accounts get temporarily locked after several failed login attempts — it's a security measure. Here's what to do: - Wait 15 to 30 minutes and try again - If the lockout continues, raise a support ticket under Account Issue The platform is slow or unresponsive - Check with our support team to see if there's a known incident going on - If it seems to be just your connection, try refreshing the page or switching networks Last updated: March 2026 — Praxicraft Platform

Your account is your home on Praxicraft. Here's how to manage your password, set up two-factor authentication, and keep things secure. How do I reset my password? On the login page, click Forgot Password, enter your email, and we'll send you a reset link. - The link expires in 15 minutes, so be quick! - If you signed up with Google or GitHub, you don't have a password — just use OAuth to sign in How do I change my password? Go to Dashboard → Settings → Account and scroll to the password section. You'll need to enter your current password before setting a new one. How do I set up two-factor authentication (2FA)? Head to Dashboard → Settings → Security and click Enable 2FA. - Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.) - Enter the generated code to confirm - From then on, every login will ask for a verification code — nice and secure! I lost access to my 2FA app. Help! No worries — raise a support ticket and a human agent will verify your identity and help you recover your account. We can't bypass 2FA automatically (for your protection), but we'll get you sorted. I got a suspicious login alert. What does that mean? Praxicraft watches for IP address changes mid-session. If your session was accessed from a different location than where you logged in: - It was you (e.g. you switched networks) — no action needed - It wasn't you — change your password immediately and enable 2FA How do I delete my account? Go to Dashboard → Settings and scroll to the Danger Zone. Click Deactivate Account. - You'll be asked to confirm your identity first (password, 2FA code, or email code for OAuth users) - Deletion is permanent and removes all your data - If you own an organisation, it must be dissolved before you can delete your account — contact support to kick that off How long does my session stay active? Sessions last 24 hours, with automatic timeouts to keep your account safe: - After 10 minutes of inactivity, you'll get a warning - After 15 minutes of inactivity, you'll be automatically logged out Last updated: March 2026 — Praxicraft Platform
Platform FeaturesXP & Rank System
XP is how you grow on Praxicraft. Earn it, spend it on hints, and watch your rank climb — you can never lose a rank, so every point counts. How do I earn XP? XP is earned mainly by completing cases. The amount you earn varies by case difficulty. Some other platform activities may award XP too. What are the 17 ranks? You start as a Data Intern and work your way up to Bureau Director: ⭐ Ranks 6 and 9 are particularly significant milestones — you'll unlock new platform features when you hit them! How do promotions work? When your XP hits the threshold for the next rank, your promotion triggers automatically — no action needed from you. - You'll get an in-app notification and a congratulations email - Your rank, salary, and profile all update instantly - At certain ranks, you'll unlock new features and gain fictional direct reports in the org chart Can I lose XP or get demoted? Nope! XP only goes up. Once you've earned a rank, it's yours to keep forever. What's the difference between Lifetime XP and Current XP? Good thing to know: - Lifetime XP — the total XP you've ever earned. It never goes down, ever - Current XP — used for rank progression.
