How do I earn XP?
XP is earned mainly by completing cases. The amount you earn varies by case difficulty. Some other platform activities may award XP too.
What are the 17 ranks?
You start as a Data Intern and work your way up to Bureau Director:
⭐ Ranks 6 and 9 are particularly significant milestones — you'll unlock new platform features when you hit them!
How do promotions work?
When your XP hits the threshold for the next rank, your promotion triggers automatically — no action needed from you.

At certain ranks, you'll unlock new features and gain fictional direct reports in the org chart
Can I lose XP or get demoted?
Nope! XP only goes up. Once you've earned a rank, it's yours to keep forever.
What's the difference between Lifetime XP and Current XP?
Good thing to know:

Lifetime XP — the total XP you've ever earned. It never goes down, ever

Current XP — used for rank progression. This can be lower than Lifetime XP if you've spent XP unlocking hints
